Not long ago, the DMTO commercial unit for the production of olefins from methanol, built in the Baotou Branch Co. of Shenhua Coal-to-Oils Chemical Co.,Ltd.(SCTOCC), has passed a performance evaluation jointly undertaken by SCTOCC, DICP, the SYN Energy Technology Co. Ltd., and the Luoyang Petrochemical Engineering Corp. of Sinopec. The assessment results showed that the contracted technical indexes on operation load, methanol consumption per ton olefin yield, and consumption of catalyst and public engineering have all been fully achieved.

The DMTO process is a proprietary technology developed by DICP, and transferred to the Baotao Branch Co. of SCTOCC as a State Demo Unit. The commercial unit was commissioned successfully in August 2010, and put into normal commercial operation this year.
