The third commercial scale DMTO plant, Yanchang Petroleum Group (Jingbian) MTO plant, started up successfully on Jun.21st,2014. Methanol feeding began at 23:23 pm on Jun.21st, and polymer grade propylene began to be produced at 19:25 pm on Jun.25th, and polymer grade ethylene began to be produced at 7 am on Jun.27th.
This DMTO plant is the core part of a comprehensive project, the owner of which is Shannxi  Yanchang Petroleum Group Yulin Coal Chemical Industry Corporation, a large chemical  enterprise group  integrated utilizing of coal, gas, oil and salt. First stage project includes 8 sets of main equipments and related utilities, such as 1800 KTA methanol, 1500 KTA DCC, 600 KTA DMTO, 2×300 KTA PE, 2×300 KTA PP, 90 KTA MTBE, 40 KTA 1-butene. This project is listed as "UN Clean Coal Technology Demonstration Project" and “Shaanxi Province Circular Economy Demonstration Project".
This project opened up a new route to integrated utilize of coal, gas, oil, to realize hydrocarbon complementary, and to get a low emission and high yield of olefins. This is of great significance in improving the efficiency of energy conversion and exploring new route of high carbon utilization for low carbon energy.
